A mentor has a wealth of knowledge for you to draw upon and can be a sounding board for your ideas and an accountability buddy to make sure you stick to the plan
In our masterclasses we take a business topic and put together workshops to increase your knowledge and effectiveness
A mastermind is when a small group of entrepreneurs come together to help solve each others challenges in business
Meet other young entrepreneurs at our networking events to make sure everyone feels a part of The Kent Foundation
With over 100 mentors as part of The Kent Foundation it’s safe to say we have a wealth of knowledge for you to draw upon.
We’ve refined our mentor matching process so that we can give you the best support available.
A business mentor provides guidance, shares expertise, and offers valuable perspective. They can help you navigate challenges, set goals, and grow your business. It’s like having a trusted advisor who’s been there before, offering you insights that can save you time, money, and stress. A mentor can be a game-changer for your business.
We host masterclasses where we take an element of business, such as digital marketing or taxes, and put together workshops to improve your knowledge in that area.
To truly understand business there is much you will need to learn. We help break that down into bitesize chunks.
You don’t have to do business alone! Masterminds are events where a small group of entrepreneurs come together to help each other with the challenges they’re facing in their business.
You’ll find the journey of business easier and more enjoyable if you have others in a similar boat to collaborate with along the way.
It can be hard to find other young entrepreneurs in your local area for you to chat and collaborate with. That’s why we put on networking events for you to meet each other and build relationships.
Don’t just take our word for it, here is some feedback from our mentors and young business people from latest survey.
“Confidence – one mentee arrived completely deflated and not knowing which direction the business should take. Mentoring sessions have given her confidence to explore other options she hadn’t considered, seen things in a different light, and reduced the “fear” of decision making.”
There are many factors we look at to make sure we match you with the best suited mentor but there are three main ones:
Location. We try to match you with a mentor that’s local to you so you’re able to meet in person if you choose.
Personality. It’s important that you feel comfortable with your mentor, that’s why we make sure to match you with someone who’s likely to have a similar personality to yours.
Complimentary Skills. If the area of the business you need to most help with is marketing, we will match you with a marketing expert as to opposed to a finance expert. That way, you will get the most out of your mentorship.
If you’d like some support from The Kent Foundation it’s a simple process.
We can send you an onboarding form which will give us all the information we need to make sure we’re able to match you with the best mentor for you.
Once that’s been received, you’re able to start attending our events such as the masterclasses and masterminds. In the meantime, the coordinator will go away and find you a mentor.
Once a mentor has been found there will be an initial meeting with you, your new mentor and the coordinator.
Once you’ve applied and been accepted, it usually takes around 2 weeks to get you matched with a mentor. That gives our coordinators enough time to go through our bank of mentors, talk to a few and make sure you’re matched with the mentor best suited for you.
That’s absolutely fine! Although it’s rare, occasionally our coordinators will get it wrong and may match you with a mentor you don’t gel with.
If that does happen, you just need to notify your coordinator and they will re-match you with a different mentor.
Usually there is a Kent Foundation event every month. These alternate between all the different types of events we put together.
Annually we also host an awards event to shine a spotlight on people and businesses in our community who have achieved something that’s worth shouting about.
